Chiselpoints go to the seaside
Drawing white things with shades of grey graphite
Some things to remember.
- need to focus on negative shapes
- using graphite to draw everything BUT the white thing
- backgrounds need careful consideration and may need to be enhanced to throw the subject forward
- the white subject may need very gradual transition from where the shading starts to where the white is white
- the chisel edge can be used to make graded lines
- Graphite dust can be used to with great advantage with blenders
Skulls, Shells and Sea foam all cry out to be drawn in Chisel Points!
